It’s always a good sign when you have businesses knocking on your door to move in before you are even officially open, and that’s exactly what happened with Sweetinburgh & Windsor, who are patent and trade mark attorneys.
Sweetinburgh & Windsor heard about Crawley Innovation Centre from Crawley Borough Council, who own the centre, but is managed by Oxford Innovation Space, the UK’s largest operator of innovation centres. From the initial tour, business partners Mark Sweetinburgh and Louise Windsor knew it was the place for them to grow and establish their business from.
Mark comments: “When we first heard about Crawley Innovation Centre we knew it would be a great place for us. We specialise in helping businesses protect their new products and processes, and we hope that being on site will be of benefit to the other customers, be this through chats over coffee or providing training on Intellectual Property.
The centre is modern and provides a great place to work, and we can already see the huge potential for the centre to provide a hub for technology businesses to grow and prosper. The Oxford Innovation Space team who run Crawley Innovation Centre, have been incredibly proactive and clearly know how to make an innovation centre a success. We have also been impressed with how much we have been made to feel part of the Oxford Innovation Space network. We look forward to continuing the growth of our business within Crawley Innovation Centre and are excited to learn about the new businesses that take up residence over the coming months.”
As well as the vast physical facilities the centre provides, Sweetinburgh & Windsor have been able to spend time with Fiona Anderson, the centre’s Innovation Director, who is on hand to provide a unique package of business support to any type or size of business. At no additional cost to any of the business owners based at Crawley Innovation Centre, Fiona provides one-to-one expert coaching and mentoring and can provide support that ranges from attracting investors, navigating the funding landscape, business growth strategies and marketing.
“As soon as the Oxford Innovation Space team arrived on site, we were introduced to Fiona. We have already had an initial meeting, and it is clear that Fiona will be able to help us enormously. To have such support and expertise available to us through Crawley Innovation Centre is such a welcome bonus.”
