It’s not every day you open up an email to say you have been successful in securing a £45,000 grant from your local council but that is exactly what recently happened to a business based at Crawley Innovation Centre.
Fynlo AI are a cutting-edge technology business with deep expertise to deliver a carbon management solution for the freight and motor industry. Thanks to support and guidance from the Centre Manager here at Crawley Innovation Centre, Fynlo AI have recently received grant funding from Crawley Borough Council’s Greentech Fund to help grow the business.
Matthew Leek, Co-Founder of Fynlo AI, comments: “The UK freight sector is sleepwalking into a compliance crisis. The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the UK Sustainability Reporting Standards (SRS) deadline are forcing large manufacturers to provide verified Scope 3 indirect greenhouse gas data from their hauliers and most operators have no way to provide it. This funding enables us to move fast, complete our Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) framework accreditation and get Fynlo in front of fleets that need a solution now.
“A huge thank you to Crawley Borough Council for seeing and believing in our journey, and an even bigger thank you to Shelley Furey, Centre Manager at Crawley Innovation Centre. Without Shelley and the team, we wouldn’t have known of this grant’s existence. Not only do we have a great location to base our business from with space to grow as we employ more people in the future, but the value add from the innovation support they provide cannot be rivalled by other typical co-working spaces. If you’re a start-up and looking for a new home in and around the Gatwick or Crawley area, I cannot recommend Crawley Innovation Centre enough.”
